Winter Storm Warning/Wind Advisory
A Weather Advisory is issued if after review of pertinent weather information it is determined that escalating emergency conditions are not likely.
A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Coos and Carroll Counties from 1 PM today until 7 AM Saturday, with 4-8 inches of snow expected through the period. The rest of the State is under a Winter Weather Advisory for today, through early tomorrow morning. Snow will begin from the South this morning and spread Northward throughout the day. Precipitation is expected to change over to a mixed bag from South to North as the day progresses however the Northern parts of the State should remain all snow. Precipitation totals should be in the 1-3 inch range South of Concord with over 2 inches to the North. Winds should stay below hazard levels for the day on Friday.
The bigger story may be the wind for Saturday, a Wind Advisory has been issued for Cheshire and Hillsborough counties, starting early Saturday morning as the Friday storm pulls away. Winds will be sustained from the West at 20-30 MPH with gusts up to 45, with a slight chance of a spot 50 MPH gust in the higher terrain. Winds will persist all day and will relax after sunset. Dry conditions with winds below hazard levels are expected for Sunday.
